Administrative HistoryBlowers Green, Dudley, Mines and premises etc., owned by the Cartwright family, leased by the Stourbridge Glazed Brick and Fire Clay Co. Ltd from 1892 (following the assignment of Samuel Mobberley and Thomas Clulee's lease), and finally acquired by the Company in 1922
In 1876, and 1878, Rev.W.H.Cartwright conveyed part of the above (4459 sq. yds and 3858 sq.yds respectively) to Samuel Woodall. The mining rights were exempted and continued to be leased by the Cartwrights. As a result of the Assignment of 1892, the Stourbridge Glazed Brick and Fire Clay Co. Ltd gave notice of intention in 1901 to mine to within 21 yards of the property. A dispute followed with the owner, John Thompson, which was resolved in 1905
