Description	On 31st December 1853 Watts retired from the business. The firms of Doulton and Watts and Henry Doulton and Co. were emalgamated. The business of John Doulton Junior (St. Helens) was also amalgamated into the new business of Doulton and Co. [taken from: page 45 (including footnote 16) 'Sir Henry Doulton: The Man of Business as a Man of Imagination' by Edmund Gosse, edited by Desmond Eyles.1970. ISBN: 0 09 103590 2]. There is a 20th Centry Private Ledger in the Business Accounts Section as it is combined with a General Ledger.
