Administrative History | Hayden's was founded in 1896 by Mr R.W. Hayden and Mrs M.B Hayden, J.P., starting with one small shop in Tunstall's High Street, selling menswear and boyswear. By 1958 the Tunstall shop had more than doubled in size and 8 other branches had opened across the Potteries and it closed in 1903.
Mr Edward (Ted) Allman (1912-2005) worked for local menswear company Hayden's of the Potteries from leaving school until retirement well into his seventies. He started his employment as a shop boy and later progressed to become General Manager of the Company and then a member of the Board of Directors. |
