Administrative History | George Henry Dewsberry (1857-1939) started a business decorating tiles (tile company Bates, Dewsberry and Co, Encaustic tile manufacturers at Mayer Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent), some of which are said to be in Osborne House, Queen Victoria's home on the Isle of White.
David Dewsberry (1851-1929) was famous for the orchids he painted for the Doulton factory where he worked from 1889-1919.

Description | This archive is comprised of 1 portfolio of paintings and 2 large folders of single painted images by George Henry Dewsberry (1857-1939) and some by his brother David Dewsberry (1851-1929), many are tile designs and some are for other pieces of pottery such as plates, c.1874-c.1920. Paintings of floral and fruit studies. Some paintings are dated, some signed by Geroge Henry Dewsberry and some signed by his brother David Dewsberry.
