| Description | This collection consists of the Staffordshire portion of the estate management records accumulated by Messrs Thynne and Thynne. Much the greater part of the collection concerns the estates in Staffordshire belonging to the Earls of Dartmouth, and managed by Messrs Thynne and Thynne. With these estate records was found some earlier correspondence of the second, third, and fourth earls of Dartmouth, together with a few early vouchers. There are also some records which cover not only the Dartmouth estates in Staffordshire, but those in other counties as well.
Apart from the Dartmouth estate records, the collection includes accounts for four other estates in South Staffordshire and Birmingham, managed by Messrs Thynne and Thynne. |
