TitleDocuments in Major Dyott's numbered series and analysis
ArrangementThe documents are stored in bundles in the order in which they are numbered, but they have not been numbered in chronological order, or in archive groups.
Full transcripts of all the documents in this series were made by Major Dyott and one copy of the transcripts was bound up in seven volumes, which are in Major Dyott's possession. The transcripts in each volume are arranged in chronological order and consequently do not follow the sequence of the numbers on the documents.
A second copy of the transcripts is with the collection (see D661/2) and should be consulted for full information on the documents concerned. The transcripts in this copy are arranged in numerical order. The list is only intended as a guide to the documents in the series.
The dates given for documents are those that appear on the transcripts. Where these are inaccurate the correct date has been noted.
Physical DescriptionMany of the documents in the numbered series were damaged by water when the building in which they were stored was damaged during the Second World War. In consequence some of them have become partly or wholly illegible. In such cases the transcripts, D661/2 (which were made before the damage occured) must be used.
