Title | ST Bowen & Son, sandal manufacturer, Mount Street, Stafford |
Administrative History | ST Bowen' & Son was known for the "Fair Wear" Sandal. Many sandals were designed for children, also cheaper products for market trading. This may be seen in the context of postwar shortages and economising, and the firm was certainly dealing with many orders and enquiries form across the county, with some products being exported abroad including Africa. The firm's business heading also states they were manufacturers of "veldt footwear". |
