| Description | Motor vehicles were used by Staffordshire Police since the early 20th century and in 1930 the Motor Transport Branch was formed. Motor patrols operated from a central point at Stafford. Later traffic patrols operated on Divisional and Sub-Divisional basis. This was supplemented by patrol groups based at the Force Headquarters Garage at Stafford and the North Staffordshire Garage at Hanley.
