An account for royalties due to Lord Dartmouth from the Heath Colliery Company is included in the accounts for 1853. The accounts include receipts for produce of Sandwell Home Farm, and for colliery royalties from Ball's Hill Mines. The charitable gifts in these accounts include regular subscriptions to churches and church schools in West Bromwich. The expenses include costs of repairs to Sandwell Hall, and sums paid to tenants in compensation for damage caused by colliery spoil banks and sand pits. Each yearly account is approved and signed by Lord Dartmouth.
